While delivering leaflets in Victoria, Blundellsands and Manor wards over the past few weeks, I have been surprised at the hostility towards the Liberal-Democrats expressed by a large number of residents. A common theme has been “At least if you vote Tory you know what you’re getting”.
The local Lib Dem candidate has also come under fire from many who object to his use of personal remarks against the Labour Candidate, Councillor Les Byrom MBE. FRICS. Many complained that you would have great difficulty ascertaining actually what party the Lib Dem candidate was representing by reading their latest leaflet, some even asking if he was standing for Sainsbury’s.
